Virtual Reality with the HTC Vive

The HTC Vive™ is a leading virtual reality headset released last year. It delivers immersive room scale experiences, enabling new ways to interact in virtual environments. This workshop will provide a snapshot of the rapidly growing VR ecosystem, describing how the Vive differs from other headsets on the market. Participants will learn how to set up the Department of Communication’s Vive system, and demo a few of the most popular VR experiences today.

Andrew Mitrak, Director of Marketing at AxonVR and UW alumnus, will lead the tutorial. He'll answer any questions you have about the HTC Vive and virtual reality technology.

Note: This workshop is designed for newcomers to VR. It will not cover VR content creation, which is a much more complicated topic.
